LMM Opinions and Facts needed

This truck will be my DD until it wears out. Durability with some added power is what I am looking for.

Ok so here is my short list of planned mods:

1. Cognito Stage 4 with Bags on the rear.
2. 5" Turboback MBRP Exhaust (or the 4" if I win it from Alligator)
3. Edge CTS Race
4. Transgo Jr.
5. EGR Blocker
6. PCV Reroute
7. Tires after I wear out the stock (and maybe some XD wheels)
Our trucks have phenomenal power and itty bitty stock tires (WTF)

Questions:

1. Am I missing any important mods that I will need to do?
2. Will the Transgo Jr. be enough to support these mods?
3. Up pipe, what is this?

I really see no reason for the transgo with just a level 3 Edge CTS. Save the time and energy for a full tranny build.
LMM's don't have near as bad EGR problems as the older trucks. I'm not messing around with it.
An "up pipe" can be refered to as a "down pipe" that connects the Turbo exhaust Flange to the rest of the exhaust, or they are these: http://duramaxtuner.com/catalog/65
Personnaly. I'd go the EFI live. With it , you can have a tow setting custom tuned for your needs with additional turbo brake pulling that big o' 5th wheeler
Yup, and have the ability to change tunes for more power if you build a tranny.
Those are the main things! You might look into some tie rod sleeves if you use your 4x4 very much. But other than that I think you have the bases covered. And the transgo jr will help unless you try to go nuts with the programmer, then it won't. But under around 120 hp is safe with the transgo jr. And up pipes are the pipes that run from your exhaust manifolds to up behind the turbo. there's a couple places to get aftermarket ones, but IMO they're not necessary until you start making some big power.
EFI Live

I am not scared about EFI Live, I understand everyone is pretty happy to sell or share tuning. I know that Version 2 with DSP5. I would need to buy a laptop for it as well. What kind of cost am I looking at getting into EFI Live, I mean real cost, because there are always extras that come into play?

Is it worth it versus the Edge CTS if I am not looking to turn 500hp?

If it is near the same price I would be more inclined to go with EFI just because it would mean that I probably wouldn't be buying another tuner if I changed my mind about HP.

Again, Thanks for the thoughts. That is the reason I posted the thread and the reason this place is so great.
EFI V2 is $799.00 You can borrow a laptop if you don't own one. A DSP5 tune is around 500 bucks, depending on who you go with.

A EGT/Boost gauge setup will run a couple hundred bucks. You'll want to have that, OR, Some guys just run the Edge monitors (no tunes) for PID monitoring. Again, a couple hundred bucks.
Even for nothing major.. benefits alone you will LOVE EFI over the rest when towing. I have an amazing tow tune right now w/ turbo brake built in when tow/haul is on. And from the looks of that nice 5th wheel you would run that tune and probably never remember how much it cost. I love the tune so much I had a hard time taking it off even without towing. Its still amazing power. Overall getting EFI.. $800 as everyone does and you get 2 tunes like all do. Get a nice strong firm shifting daily driver. And have your tow tune a switch away with a DSP2. If you only want to keep the truck safe and not tinker with it. Just do the 2 cause ims ure theres nothing else you can think of you want. And of course WANT. NOT NEED. Tow/and go fast its all you need for it. Only thing you'll add is if you want to start gettign more tunes. Thats it
True towing you deff should have EGT and Boost gauges. Throw a nice set in, and run EFI and if you want to keep it cheap just take the 2 minutes it takes to go out plug in and switch tunes. I personally trust that more than the switches even though I have the 2 switch in. I don't even use it. I have tow and my hot tune. Hot tune is all I use until its time to hook up. And if your towing a 5th wheel im sureyou know ahead of time when you are going somewhere. So take a few minutes to go load a tune in. I personally don't think you get as much dimensions within the tune and depth of adjustability in the tune when its in DSP2/5 setup. IMO and im not a tuner what so ever
i do beleive the dsp switches are like jumpdrives for a computer, you load the document(EFI tune maps) into the storage device(DSP) then when you select which tune the document is displayed to the ECM, in laymens terms. so you dont loose any tuning capabilitys.

Looks like a great list to me. You will absolutely LOVE the CTS monitor with all its functions. The 5" exhaust sounds great on an LMM, but 4" is all you really need. The Transgo Jr. kit will help, but its not a fix-all for the Allison. If you would like a quote or have any questions, feel free to give me a holler.
I suggest a lift pump so you aren't stressing the Cp3 pump.
yeah x2 for 500hp throw a cheap LP on there
