Hello, I am looking at purchasing a 2006 lbz Duramax crew cab short box here is the link http://www.perryautosalesllc.com/mobile/SearchInventory/ViewDetails?id=150379
I got him to 15 out the door, what is your opinions? The rhino liner is honestly just to protect from rust there is no rust to speak of and was out of rust belt, I drove it and everything seems just fine checked the coolant hose no smoke at cold start up! Just really worried about 210k miles is all, everything works and it feels very tight just wondering what all of you would recommend? Should I wait and spend another 4K on a less mileage? This has only cold air intake and an exhaust no tuner or anything almost a bone stock truck..

Definitely already crawled underneath it it’s very very clean frames a little brown but no rust of any kind I honestly believe it was done to preserve the body since all them rust, because nothing underneath or behind the rhino lining is rusted or even showing signs of weakness, I hit every square inch of the body and looked under every fender the truck is clean, just a little browning on the frame but it’s what my 05 half ton looks like no holes or rusty looking spots to speak of

Realize that, by the vin, it's not an LBZ but an LLY: 1GCHK23246F122646. The 8th digit is a '2'. This would be an early '06 - same as mine.

I bought mine almost 3 1/2 years ago with 242k miles and have 275k now. It's been great. I bought mine for a little less than this but close enough.

Will they let you plug in a scanner and check for codes and balance rates? Do they happen to have any service records on it?

If you can find an LBZ for under $19k with less mileage it would be a real good deal.

Just curious thought the LBZ had the egr system on it? You can see it on the pictures?

I have the Carfax on it it was a solid 2 owner truck where the first guy had it for 170k miles and every service and oil change preformed every 4,000 miles like clockwork.

It also has the 6 speed Allison trans so it’s basidally a detuned LBZ I would buy parts for it as an LBZ according to my research,

Yes these have an egr.

Maybe you already came across this?

Yes I did thank you! Well I’m going on Tuesday to make another last look at it and then decide from there to pull the trigger they will check the balance rates too, they are a diesel service facility they will even let me put it on the lift, isn’t spec +-.3 at operating temp?
