ever have a puddle under the front of the truck??? see any coolant coming out of weep hole on water pump??? possible head gasket..

 

I think the sensor is on the side of the overflow tank I would check the wiring or replace the sensor.

 

my coolant is low light has been on for months and i saw a thing on utube about a possible fix so i tried it. removed the tank (and wiring), dumped out the nasty water in it and used "dawn" or whatever dishwashing liguid you have and partially filled with water and shaked it around a bunch. repeat a time or two. then you can hear the sensor click as you turn the tank right side up and up side down you have succesfully cleaned it. my light went off after i did this. NICE no money spend, problem gone.

 

None of the above... Literally the only thing is it comes on when I start the truck. Says low engine coolant. It has plenty in it every time I've looked and no leaking. Oil isn't milky or anything.

 

More Anoying than anything.

 

i wonder if the low coolant level sensor is bad

 

i cleaned it and it works fine now. saw a utube video, remove and slosh around some dawn detergent and clean that tank out real good, it worked for mine.

 

Sensor is toast!

 

Damn what's the stealership gonna get me for there.

I have the same problem. For instance, on saturday it was on the first time I started the truck and didnt come back on until this morning. But when I turn the warning off, the engine hums out "BAD ASS DURAMAX". Kidding aside, that light is getting taken care of after I buy my house next week.

If its full & no problems its the sensers.If ya can locate them try & tap on them,there may be dirt in it that dos,nt let the contacts open to cancel the light.If that dont work you may need to flush the coolent & replace,otherwise its the senser or sensers.

 

If its full & the light stays on its the senser.Try & flush the tank out to see if there is any contaminents on the senser.Mine did the same thing & I flushed the tank & it fixed it.
