Hey guys,

This is a bit of a carry over from the Colorado/Canyon forum, but I have spent much more time on this forum. I traded in my 2015 Sierra 2500 Denali Diesel this past friday on a 16 Colorado with the Duramax. I am very very happy with the new truck.

I had the dealer add a Pro Comp Nitro kit to the truck which brought the front end up about 2.5" and the rear up an inch. They tinted the front 2 windows and I swapped out the stock tires for the BF Goodrich KO2 in 265/70/17.

I am a diesel fan, didnt really need a 3/4 ton, but there werent really many options out there until this truck came along. I am very happy about the switch. Fuel economy is significantly better than my 2500.

Thought I would share it with you guys here.

Thanks,

Kyle

Looks good. How much was it if yo don't mind? I may be getting a vehicle allotment at work and I'm leaning heavy towards the Colorado with the diesel. I need more mpg's and I'll still have my 2500HD for any heavy lifting.

They are the stock wheels for a Z71. I like them as well. I am more a factory wheel guy than aftermarket, so I was glad to retain them with the help of some beefier rubber.

With regard to pricing, this one's MSRP was just under $41k. I saw a lot of guys on the forum saying that was a lot of money for a small truck. Size wise, they aren't much smaller than the full size trucks. I think $41k is a deal compared to the $67k MSRP on the Denali I traded in on it.

This is a great truck. I highly recommend it.

I have almost 1,000 miles on it already and running either 85 or stop and go traffic, I am in the upper 24mpg range. I will definitely have tanks that I get over 30mpg out of.

Hey would you let us know how it pulls after you hook a trailer up to it? I'd like to make sure it's going to pull a four place snowmobile trailer.

After reading that, it didn't come out right. I'm not implying it's a girls truck, I'd drive one in a heart beat if I didn't need more than 10K towing. Just meant it's a smaller truck with nice mileage that in 6 years used is probably in the $20s.

I like it. That's probably going to be what I buy once I pay the lml off. Hopefully by that time the aftermarket community and efi will be showing them some love>:)

Great looking truck and nice upgrades.

Looking forward to future reports, any more upgrade info, and towing reviews.

Congrats on the new truck! How does it feel as far as merging/getting up to speed with 180HP? I'd really like to buy one of those when they start hitting the used car lots. I was always a fan of the S10, Dakota, and Ranger sized trucks - with a diesel motor, that would be perfect I think.

Any pics of the interior size and look?

I assume it is not a full size Duramax engine-- is it the smaller engine that was circulated about 6 years ago-- with the exhaust in the top and intake where the exhaust used to be-??

They're a lot more fun to drive with some tuning! The turbo is a bit undersized, so it definitely lights quick but EGT's get up there at WOT with more fueling. Good news is that they have some good sized injectors from the factory! The TCM is supported as well, and we'll be able to hold more HP with just a tune.
