So I have 120K on the factory sticks, so I know it is about time but.... I just want to make sure I diagnose it correctly before I tear it all apart. Truck starts fine, not making oil or puffing any smoke. Once warmed up I get heard a pretty good knock at idle, my #6 balance rate was at like -15, then a few days later I checked again and it is around +12. I don't understand what the + and - mean? How can it be one or the other? Realistically I know I need new sticks but I would like to understand what is going on first. Also all the other are in the 2's. Do I dare just replace one? Thanks for any help. I heard someone tell me I could get a upper engine cleaning but I assume I am a little late for that. --

my opinion replace all 8 plus the fpr and set valve lash while your in there.

try cleaning your injectors first

search DIY injector cleaning on here

lots of guys have had good luck bringing there balance rates back in line with this, myself included
