Well, I figured it was about time for me to start the build thread on my new 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD LTZ Z-71 Duramax CCSB (Silver Ice Metallic). I bought her on Black Friday of last year with only 10 miles on the odometer. I tried not to drive her and had her parked in the garage until I could get around to doing the full delete on her, but I ended up driving her twice before I could get to it, which put her at 107 miles on the odometer when she got deleted.

Most of you probably remember my build thread on my previous 2013 GMC 2500HD, and my plans for the 2016 is basically going to mirror that build, except for a few different things here and there, but basically the same. Last time, I did all my suspension stuff first and then moved on to the deletes and such. This time, I will be doing my delete first, along with some other additions, and then move on to the suspension work.

Alright, so I started ordering parts right off the bat to get this build kicked off. First thing I ordered was the exhaust, a MBRP 5" T409SS Competition Series downpipe back exhaust (someone did some artwork on the box..lol), it was the same one I had on my 2013. It was hard to find this exhaust because MBRP only makes DPF back systems now, but with a little bit of persistence and about a half a day of calling numerous vendors, I finally had one call me back and say they had one sitting in the back of their warehouse...after they told me that they didn't carry it because it was discontinued. So along with the exhaust, I ordered a MBRP Downpipe, MBRP straight pipe, Deviant Up-pipe, SDP EGR Delete, SDP PCV Re-Route, and a SDP Resonator Delete.

I also ordered a 7" tip, but it won't be going on until after I lift the truck and dump the exhaust after the axle.

At this point, I moved on to supporting mods such as tuning and monitoring systems. I ordered my Edge CTS2, Speedhut EGT and Boost gauge (blue illumination to match my cluster), and then my GORGEOUS red-headed fiance ordered me an EFI Live V2 Flashscan along with PPEI (Kory Willis) 5 tune pack. I also decided to go ahead and order a S&B Dry Filter CAI and Diamond Eye T409SS exhaust bands. Currently, I am waiting on an Autometer Dual Pillar Pod and ProFormance's center console mount for the Edge CTS2.

Then I moved my focus on the fuel system, so I ordered a FASS 150 Lift Pump, FASS Sump, and a Nictane CAT fuel filter adapter. I still have to order the CP3 here soon, so that is still to come.

At this point, I got kind of side tracked and ordered some parts that weren't engine related....I ordered all the parts from GM to get rid of the chrome from the mirrors and doors. I got the black GM tow mirror caps, black window sill trim, painted to match door moldings, and the black bowties. I was also able to get a set of painted to match door handles to replace the chrome ones.

So, I finally got around to deleting the truck this last weekend, I started on Thursday and worked on her over the weekend since I still had to work, but I finally finished her up last night. I did a complete delete removing the EGR cooler, up-pipe, and complete exhaust. I put on a 5" MBRP T409 exhaust w/straight pipe, MBRP Down-pipe, Diamond Eye T409 Exhaust Bands, Deviant up-pipe, SDP EGR delete kit, SDP Resonator delete, SDP PCV Reroute, S&B CAI w/ dry filter (filter screen getting delivered tomorrow), drilled-tapped-and installed EGT probe and boost sensor, and finally re-tuned with tunes from Kory Willis via my EFI Live V2. After re-tuning the truck, she started up just fine, I let her warm up, checked for leaks and anything out of the ordinary, took her for a spin, and she's good to go!!! 2016 Silverado officially deleted at 107 miles on the odometer!!!

***TIP OF THE DAY***

Do an EGR delete when your truck is new....makes those pesky up pipe bolts easy to remove. :rofl

Need plenty of pics of your gauges installed? Illumination an exact match?
My pillar pod comes in this week, so that will probably be my project this weekend.....if I can find the paint to match the interior color, but I will definitely have up pics and let you know man. The last ones I had were a perfect green match...I'm curious to this blue.

Well, I know Speedhut has got a couple of different reds, and I'm sure one of them will be a close match. They only have one red font with the black background and after googling some real life pictures, it looks like it would match pretty good with the GMC red...just like the green did on my '13 GMC. And I just noticed that Speedhut has a 20% off sale right now!!!
