I get a growling noise in 2 odd ways.

1) In 2wd while pressing gas or not pressing gas

2) In 4wd but ONLY when I am not pressing the gas. As soon as I touch the pedal, the noise stops.

The faster I go, the louder the growl. But only in the 2 ways above.

It doesn't matter when I turn corners, it growl in the 2 ways above.

Growl is noticable above 20km/hr.

The noise is NOT:

-pump rub. I bought the merchant kit and its been installed today. There was absolutely no sign of wear anywhere in the tcase.

-u joints. I just replaced them all today. Not a single difference in the noise level. Original U joints had no signs of wear when I replaced them.

-ice or snow.. Trucks been in a heated shop for 2 weeks now before I installed pump rub fix and u joints. And it's been thoroughly hosed off.

Could it be wheel bearing? Loose chain in the tcase??
