Some of you might know i've been having trouble with my cluster for the last few months, well finally the dic completely went out, so i bit the bullet and took it to the dealer. $541 later i have a working cluster, but they have the wrong mileage programed into it. I asked them if they could tell what the correct mileage was they said no. that the cluster comes pre-programed with the mileage in it off of what i told them, which i said i think it is 60,000 but dont know cause the DIC doesnt work. so thats what they programmed it to. Doesnt the ECM store the mileage also? And can't they program it at the dealer? The crazy thing is they have the correct oil life and fuel filter life programmed. :help

The cluster stores the mileage. If you spent $546 for a used cluster Id take it back to the dealer and shove it up there @ss! Someone on here hasd a link to a place that fixs clusters as well

had to pay cause cluster is only covered up to 36k and im at 66k. didmt say anything about mods. i have the link for the cluster repair, but would have cost me the same amount in downtime to send it off.

On the pre new body style trucks the cluster does not read the mileage from the ECM. If it gets replaced it has to be preprogrammed and most dealers cannot do this.
