Just thought I would introduce myself...... I just bought a 02 GMC D-Max earlier this month. Pretty pleased with it so far, my first diesel pickup. I'd like to say I think this forum is pretty kick @ss and I'm looking forward to learning a lot here.

Anywho.... I guess I can get my first stupid question out of the way...

I know, from reading other posts on the site that some have done this and others claim that it can't be done. Is there anyone who can tell me truthfully with a 2-3" leveling kit, is it possible to run 315 75R16 's on stock rims? If so are there any pictures out there of this? I,ve heard some guys say it's possible with the truck sitting stock, but i like the idea of the small lift with that size tire.

Thanks for any imput on this, consitering it has probably been covered before.

we have sevaral family owned tire shops so i have done this sevaral times...with stock wheels you can run 315-75R16(35-12.50R16)with a leveling kit but it will hit in hard turns so with the 2" lift it will clear, but with the 315's being as wide as they are it would look better on a 8" or wider wheel verse the stock 7" wheel..hope this helps

Thanks guys.

TYREBOYZ_DEMAXIN, with an 8 inch wheel, what kind of backspacing is needed to keep from ripping the entire fender apart? Also, do you guys have any pictures of a DMAX on 315's with a leveling kit?

The stock wheels have a 4 and 7/8" backspacing i believe, and most all aftermarket 16x8s i've looked at have a 4.5" backspace. Will this work?

you shouldn't have a problem with the 16X8's with the 4.5" backspacing, but to do it right with the 315's you should go with the 9.5" wide wheels...i don't have any pics.. check out my garage for some pics of my truck with 20X10 eagle alloys with 305-50R20(32.8-12.50R20) tires..hopem this info helps http://www.duramaxforum.com/forum/vbpicgallery.php?do=view&g=107
