New LLY Duramax Owner
Tomorrow I pick up my new 2005 Silverado 2500HD Crew Cab Diesel, first time diesel owner...owned bow-ties all my life. I have been reading the forum here for info the last few days and looking forward to gaining some of the knowledge on here to build my beast. The truck is engine stock except for a 6" MBRB stack, which I want to get rid of....personally don't like that look, no offense to those that do.

Welcome...you will love your new truck!!!!! Make sure your change the turbo mouthpiece out with either a LBZ mouthpiece or AFE Bladerunner, the factory one is very restricted!!!

Thanks guys....as a newbie can someone tell me what the DPF is? I checked the abbreviation page and don't see it. LLYD_Max, mine looks just like yours cept the Chevy vs GMC, I like the look of the GMC better but I got a great deal on this rig and it's super clean and LOADED!!!!
The LLY doesnt have the DPF....diesal particulate filter...ONly the 07.5 and newer have this.Thanks guys....as a newbie can someone tell me what the DPF is? Welcome to the DF. With the truck having a stack it makes me think that it has probably been chipped or other mods done to it. Do you know of any?
Welcome to the DF. I also have an 05 LLY DMAX. Great trucks, but as posted earlier replace your stock turbo MP with a LBZ MP..... Under $90.00 at gmpartsdirect.com this is a must first mod if it hasn't already been replaced...
