Hey, this site looks great. I look forward to visiting often. I'm obviously new to the site. I also am new to the whole world of Diesel Power, and I've got to say it is awsome. I am having a problem this morning. Here in Chicago it is 10 degrees. I started my 2500HD W/ 6.6 and let her warm up to operating temp, but then I drove about 100 yards befor the check engine light came on, won't go over 2000 rpm's, or shift from second gear? she's an 06' with 17,000 miles on her. I have not done any mods she's bone stock? Any advise would be helpful.

frozen water seperator

As I sit and look at my truck in the driveway, I can't help but wonder that, because it is so f*#&ing cold out, is it possible, because I'm so close to an oil, and water filter, change that the water in the water seperator froze? Constricting the fuel?:help

If you had a lot of water in your fuel, it could be that. Yes, water cold restrict the fuel filter though. Have you changed your fuel filter in the 17,000 miles you have owned your truck? If not, change it right away. I would not go any longer than 10,000 miles on a stock fuel filter...I was changing mine at every oil change (about every 7500 miles) and cutting it open.....nasty. It would be helpfully to know what codes you threw...try to go to an autozone and have them pulled and post them on here. I would start with a fuel filter change though.

I agree, that cold and that many miles on the fuel filter i would get er changed. with it being that cold it could have even started to gel the fuel in the filter!

BTW Welcome to the site!

Thank you for all of the input. I let her run in the driveway for 45 minutes until it finnally came out of safe mode. Since the truck is only 6 months old I went straight to the dealer, I hated to bring her there, apparently both, not just one, both thermostats were froze, and needed to be replaced, Sounds odd, but I'll have to fly with it. Thanks again for the warm welcome, I look forward to learning alot more about the deisel powerhouses we are all driving.
