NewB Edge question

Hello fellas.
I'm the proud new owner of an '02 Chevy 2500 DM. I had an 84 with a 6.2 for years and decided to move up.

My question is this...I'm thinking about getting an Edge Juice for the DM but I'm on a budget......A very restricted budget according to the wife. Is it worth getting the Edge Juice without the attitude monitor? Seems a guy can get one fairly cheap off of ebay without the monitor. How does a guy change the settings without the monitor?

Also, I'm a guy that loves to hear the turbo spool up. Is there anything cheap a guy can do to make that sound more prevelant.

If any of these questions sound stupid, please forgive me. Again I'm new to the duramax.......but I freakin LOVE it.

Thanks,
Chad

first off:welcome abaord...if you want to hear the turbo putt a straight on her,if you want to just cut the muffler out and put a straight pipe in it's place but you will have better results witha bigger exhaust..5" sounds the best..as for the programmer check out the diablo sport,i don't know a whole lot about the edge..just my $.02
Hey thanks for the info. Like I said I'm new to the DM's. So taking the muffler out and running a straight 5" back from....where? I'll look into the other programmer.
I am open to any and all sugestions so let then fly,, :)
First off I you wife is complaining about your budget now, you might as well quit while your ahead first it will be an exhaust 450.00 then a programer,400.00 then a tranny 3000.00!!! You get my point!!!
i put the 5"magnaflow turbo back exhaust with the ppe(225hp)on with the bully dog shift kit..bully dog shift kit $100....ppe $550...5"magnaflow exhaust $1,000...and that is at the most you'll pay and that is good for additional 170 to 200rwhp..the exhaust i bought for $800 from a custormer of mine and the ppe i bought off of ebay for $500...total $1400....runs great and my fuel economy is a average of 18 some highway but mostly coutry driving...yes if your wife says no more then a thousand bucks well you would be wise to listen...it is a very expessive habbit
