I was just wondering that myself. Today i was at a red light & looked down at the gauges, noticed the oil pressure looked lower. I drove to the dealer and they said it was fine, it was sitting at the quarter mark.

I run right around 80 at cruising in 6th gear. Too high?

'bout 50-55 @ 2000, at idle drops to 25-30, center hash mark. I try not to look when sitting a stop light.

Cold mine runs about 60 at idle until it warms up. Then falls at idle to about 35-40. Running down the road, it stays at 40-45.

I heard that the 2006 and above have a high volume low pressure and the older ones have a low volume and high pressure. I could be wrong but I think that is what I read somewhere. Hope this helps.

I have noticed my LMM sits at 25 @ idle and 40 @ highway speeds. I have worked on diesel engines for 12 yrs, Cummins had an issue with some industrual engine duribility because the oil pressure was too high. You would think high pressure is good, it will actually erode the babbit off of the engine bearings causing them to fail prematurely. The fix for that was to drop the pressure form 80 to 60....

My oil pressure is low as well, I was logging on to post my readings:

95 deg idle 700rpm 29psi (oil) using Delo 400 15W-40 (Dealer changed)

96 deg 1500rpm 60 mph 38psi (oil) 190 (TranTemp) 200 (Temp)

93 deg 1700rpm 65mph 41psi 197 TT 200 Water

2007 2500HD Duramax, Allison, 7/8 tank of fuel, 170lb driver, 50lb cargo.

These pressures seem low to me, owned the truck 1 month, has 66K miles. Also, what should the trans temp be? Yesterday I pulled a 7x14 5000lb tralier (95deg) and tran temp was 205. Is this with in operating parameters?

That is very similar to what my 05 with 110000 miles runs.

My oil psi is 60# until the ECT get's to about 100*, then drops down to around the quarter mark (about 30#) and pretty much always has.
