Ok so i had hp tuners before i got efi live, the problem i am having is when i read the tune that was in my truck it shows the vin number and operating system from the truck the tune was on when i flashed it into mine, apparently hp tuners doesnt require you to change the operating system but efi does,i am trying to play with a few tunes before i load them into dsp format, How do i get the operating system changed so i can load them on my 2001?

where are all these mystery tunes coming from?

no offense what so ever, and don't take this the wrong way.. but if you don't know how to change the OS on a tune, you are really going to be lost trying to make a DSP file.

You might want to call whoever collected your money for that V2, and get some help.

Ok thanks guys, and to bankrupt no offense taken but i do know how to tune already,i just didnt know how to change the operating system,i came over from hp tuners so i have the tuning down pretty good,i have all these "mystery tunes becuase i took the tune that is in my truck from hp tuners,"which didnt require you to change the os,there fore i have made changes to make it better but efi wont let me load it becuase of the os difference, Thanks for the help guys i will get it figured out. And i got it from Rob i just dont like bugging him for every little question i have, but if it is something i can't figure out i have no problem getting ahold of him.

Thanks mitch, I just dont see a point bugging Rob for little things that i can either figure out on here by asking or expermenting and then if i cant figure it out i will give him a call ,99% of the time i just email him becuase i figure there are people who need him on the phone more than myself, I am still not being able to figure out how to change this operating system over to mine and my vin, becuase when i read the tune that is in my truck it shows the vin and operating system the truck the tune was origonaly written for,I need to figure out how to change that stuff and i will be good to go.and at this point my head hurts, But thank you for the links Mitch they cleared up some other questions.

So your looking to change your OS to what? Do you have a tune in a different OS and you want to run it in your truck?

If that is the case your going to want to find a stocktune with the same OS as the one with the tune. When you get this your going to want to open the stocktune and then open up the big tune as a comparision (little folder with the red arrows next to the save button)... from here your going to want to make sure all your units are consistant.

Go edit configure display units... make sure they are all set to one or the other.

From there your going to want to make the script. Click edit-->create script... save it.

Now your going to want to open up your stock OS with the OS you want to put in your truck. Then run this script you made... that will port the changes from that other tune over to your current tune.

Search on this site and dieseplace for scripts... there will be some good helpful threads in there....

and if all else fails ill try and help you out.

Goodluck
