P0701 help

So just the other day or so I changed the whole transmission fluids and filters. Used the shallow internal filter, Allison spin on w/ new magnet (there was no magnet before), and transynd fluid. I bought the shallow filter lock made by Suncoast. While putting that in I broke a bolt while torquing (got it drilled out) so I got a relatively similar bolt and hand tightened them hard because I feared breaking another.

Today after I replaced my fpr, I scanned for trouble codes and got just TCM P0701..... Means low pressure. Is the Allison that sensitive to 2 bolts holding the valve body (at 110 in/lbs). I know I didn't mess with anything else besides lightly dabbing away dripping oil.

Any ideas would be great. Probably just have to go back in and tighten to 110 in/lbs after all

I have a 500 mile round trip ahead of me in less than 3 days hauling show cattle soooo... Thanks

My guess for the P0701 is the internal filter is loose--sucking air-!
Did you remove the old o-ring before you installed the new filter- put one on the new filter-?? Two o-ring seals--?? Best to recheck the bolts also- big torque wrenches are not accurate for low inch pound torque.

Moved to Trans

The old orange seal stayed right on the old filter when I took it out. There is only one seal right? I'm quite certain

Starting to think the design of the filter lock is messing it up. I have no clue what the holes on top do but ones half covered.... I'm taking it off and seeing what happens.

Still a code. Should I clear it and see if it comes back? I can't tell what's going wrong.....

Just drove it around light and hard. When I hit it hard nothing feels like it's slipping. Moves through the gears just fine to me. After the first couple starts and shutdowns I got some weird brief noise but that's not happening anymore.
I'm a novice with this so it makes the solution harder to find.

My speedometer is acting slow now. Mainly when slowing down it doesn't keep pace.

The P0701 could have set when you filled the trans after the service- possible it ran out before you added more fluid-!

Always check the fluid --engine running and trans about 175 degrees. Do not run it at the top mark, or over the top mark- towing there can excessive heat-- and in some cases puke fluid and can cause a fire if leaks on a hot exhaust.

Back to normal no more code. Found a very straight cut PDF made by altraonline.com for troubleshooting common TCM codes.

My case was since I flushed almost all the fluid out, upon my first startup it did not prime fully within the first 2-6 seconds. The remedy for that calls for clearing the code and doing a cold startup. If the code doesn't come back the tranny primed itself and is ready to go.
