I just purchased my EGR blocker plate from Alligator Performance. I also noticed while doing this plate many people will do the PCV reroute. However, I am not sure what the purpose of this would be. Can someone let me know?

Keeps oil out of the IC. I blocked my dmax years ago and when I tore it down to do the HG there wasn't much soot in the intake, but there was a lot of oil. I would defentlay do the pcv reroute.

Will do. Anything else I need to do while I do the EGR and PCV?

You'll need to:
1. do the "fingerstick" to keep from getting a code
2. use a programmer to block the code.

Kennedy Diesel sells them.
See here.

I got mine from Kennedy Diesel. But I'm sure there are several vendors on here that can get them for you.
