How do you drive your truck? If you are pulling or drag racing then the pinned pump will be a good investment. If you are just street driving it is not necessary and any pump from NAPA etc. will work.

No idea they're so much more but I would just do a welded one than pay that

I don't do sled pulls but I do have a heavy foot and she sees the occasional dirt drags and green light to red lights ha. My motto has always been if I have to replace or am tearing into it I might as well upgrade.
How's the welded ones compare to the pinned?

Pinned is better. I went with a welded one from merchant automotive since I don't race or pull. It comes with all the seals and gaskets. The pinned is $100 more and you will still need to get seals and gaskets. You can get a seal kit from merchant.
