I have a 2001 duramax with a lbz swap and im getting 500 kms to a tank,my friend works for gm and he put it on there code reader and he said there was some egr codes but they werent throwing the engine light could this be the reason for poor mileage?the truck is stock.

Do you have a blocker plate in the EGR system? EGR removed?

It's roughly 310 miles a tank or about 12mpg on a 26gal tank, 9mpg on a 34gal tank.
