Power steering pump and gear box upgrade

Starting to run into issues with my steering. I am replacing everything, gear box, pump, lines(the feed line leaks) and I'm upgrading to a 2011 hydro boost and will probably replace the master cylinder at same time and flush break system as it's about time to do so.
Question is as far as power steering pump and gear box. I'm pushing 35s and with heavy wheeling and deep ruts who should I upgrade to as far as stronger and has a good reputation.
I was looking at psc pump and redhead gear box but then I saw the psc gear box. Is the nearly $500 price difference that much better for the gear box? Or does red head make a good quality upgrade that is stronger than oem. I also don't want to change the ratio. Open to other opinions.

I have both the PSC steering box and power steering pump on the 01 and they are both an improvement over stock and would recommend them. Good heavy duty stuff with no problems so far.

I have the RED HEAD box and PSC Pump. the Pump has been the single biggest pc of crap I put on my truck. I had to remove it twice because the piston stuck. I spent a bunch of money on a box and their recommended fluid to get sub par results. If it ever has to be removed again I will by a stock unit and drill it and shim it myself.

This is the same setup I'm running with the 2011 LML hydro-boost upgrade. Mechanic filled the system with synthetic ATF (TES 295/668) and called it done.
When buying the gearbox, which ever version you choose, be sure to look for the "upgraded" 6-screw gearbox.

Steering stuff is weird. I've seen people rave wonderfully and trash completely the red stuff, the blue stuff, and PSC. I've only ever done 1 gear and just did it myself (I wouldn't recommend that). I think it's a lot about the condition of the core used for the rebuild and less about which place does it.

Yea reviews are all over the place.

Curious why you wouldn't recommend the re-build? Got my front end parts together including seal kit and plan a rebuild in the coming weeks. Figure for the 20 dollar seal kit its worth the try on an oem box. As long as everything is adjusted to mfg specs and bearing is good it should work dandy. Got be better than those cheap cardone jobbies.

I went with the LML hydro boost upgrade, new Gates PS lines (all of them), added an auxiliary PS cooler and filter, new AC Delco PS pump and reservoir, filled with Prestone PS fluid and called it a day. Super smooth, no whining, braking is good.

I have received and installed the psc and the red head box and new lines just waiting for the 2011 hydro to arrive tomorrow and was back and forth on whether to run power steering fluid or atf and red head solved that problem and seals the bag with a notice that says do not use atf use power steering fluid.

Update for everyone. I installed the psc pump, red head gear box, and the 2011 lml hydro boost. I did not test fit the hydro boost and immediately grabbed the step bit and opened it up about another 1/16 of an inch and then a dremel with a round sanding drum and oblonged it towards the brake pedal and rounded it off again and then bled the power steering system then drained all the brake fluid and bled it switching to dot 4. Was going to order dot 4lv pentosin like Ron but I couldn't wait any longer and needed my truck back up and running today. I should have put in these 3 a long time ago. Steering is ridiculously smooth and strong, it will effortlessly turn lock to lock without moving foreward, brakes are much more responsive and you won't be putting your foot to the floor anymore. The next thing coming is a power steering cooler.

Good to know thanks for the update. Got my stock box to rebuild out on my 2010 today. If it still isn't up to my satisfaction with all new lines and fluid i'll be starting down the aftermarket road.

Appears to be stock box but noticed one of the main bolts was loose which leads me to believe i'm not the first one to have it out. It was backed out like at least 6 or 7 threads!
