im just curious what makes the stock allison go into limp or finally say f$ck you! is it having your rig in its highest setting and taking off from a dead stop. or is it hammering it on the freeway from 60 or 70 mph? im just curious cause i dont use my chip in stop and go but more or less passing power while im already moving, is my tranny going to last longer this way as opposed to off the line launches?

this may belong in the tranny section...my mistake

THe most damaging thing is the high gear up and down shifts while under full power! Power braking to build boost can be hard if done to extreems, but will mostly "loosen" up the converter over time!

4-5 upshift is where they limp, rule of thumb is no more than 90h.p. on a stock trans. I tried 330 h.p. PPE tuner once, boy was my stock trans pissed!
