Thinking of getting a Pyrometer gauge to go on the piller. What do yall recomend?

Auto Meter sells a decent one. A local store around here sells it....and people I know say it works pretty good. I personally woudn't go digital...just because I believe that a standard guage is more reliable. PPE also sells one..but it's a little more expensive. In my opinion...as long as you spend around 150.00.....you'll get a reliable one.

Any one have pics of it mounted? That's the only gauge I was going to install. Not sure were to put it so it don't look out of place.

you should get at least the pyrometer and boost. others are like trans temperature, fuel pressure, so on.

Can you mount the ptro probe in the down pipe or does it have to be in the manifold?

The most accurate is in the manifold. There is a considerable temp drop in the downpipe vs the manifold. You would not want to see 1300* F in the downpipe.
