I have a 2007.5 LMM that I purchased new. I have the
exhaust odor that enters the cab when the engine goes into regeneration about every 300-400 miles.

I'd like to get it fixed, but I am concerned if I do I might get
my truck back with more things broke. I understand from some that it is a major job to get to the downpipe.

For those that have had this done, what did the dealer do to fix the problem? Did it solve the exhaust oder problem?

Thanks

Mine does the exact same thing, I have the same year as you. Not sure what it causing it, I'm still under factory warranty so I'm going to drop it off next week.

Mine's done it the whole time I've owned it too. if you have warranty, take it in and try to get them to fix it. There's supposed to be a tsb on a cracked downpipe, which is the source for the exhaust leak.

If you plan on upgrading to a DPF delete later on, see if you can get them to install a diamond eye downpipe since they'll be pulling the factory one anyway :D

i took mine in when it still had a warranty!:D:D:D my dealer told me they could not advise on the situation so i just deal with it. i dont smell it all the time though, i might just be used to it now! the DE downpipe is a bigger downpipe which comes off the back of the turbo and goes down to the exhaust system. the DE downpipe is bigger and flows better.

x2, its an upgraded downpipe that will flow better than stock. Just a thought since they might be under there anyway...

I had this same problem on my 08 LMM. Took mine into the dealer and they replaced the turbo down pipe that was found to be leaking by at the turbo connection. There is a TSB about this issue. Be persistant with the dealer... no one should have to deal with that smell in the cab of a vehicle.
