To the masters of fabrication!

I am in the slow process of collecting all the parts I need, to do a solid axle swap on my truck. I've been throwing deveral ideas around in my head as to how I want to handle the rear suspension. I'm not stoked about the idea of 10" blocks to level the truck out after I install the front axle. Than last night as I loaded food into the back of the cab I started looking at the hangers for the rear leafs. The back side of the hangers sit above the rear bracket by a good amount. Has anyone ever thought, or actually fabricated a bracket so the leaf hung below that point rather then above it? Would that screw with the geometry of the axle or the spring? I have been in the fabrication business for many years, and plan on doing everything inhouse, I just wondered if I found a possible way to save hundreds of dollars in new leafs by fliping the mounting location around.

I couldn't possible be that smart could I?? :rofl
