Hey everyone,
So a while back I posted about trying to correct an issue after replacing a exhaust fluid heater and attempting to use a CTS 3 to clear the diagnostic portion of the repair.
Unfortunately this did not work. I went ahead and ordered a bi-directional diagnostic tool (launch MX471) and I was able to clear all issues with the exception of one. The truck is stuck in a reductant system malfunction warning level 5. I've gone in and started the test on the launch.. but the truck appears to simply sit in an idling state. There are no other DTC's on the truck, just this warning.
What should I expect the vehicle to do when I begin this test?
I was assuming it would likely idle up as it does for quality tests, regens, etc. Are my expectations incorrect?
Any other tips I can try to clear this code? I know I could have just run this to the local shop, but I've really wanted to start working on diesel engines a bit at home and felt like this was a good first chance to make the leap from turning wrenches on my gassers to my truck.
Thanks
