hello! new, here, also will be new to the duramax and diesels in general shortly as well!
one of the trucks i'm looking at buying is a 2002 3500 CC dually with 200k miles on it.
guys says it has a certified transmission road ripper 1000 put in 10k ago.
I cant seem to find anyting about them besides their co webs site---
is this something I should stay away from?
says on their site its for towing and "extra" 4k lbs...but the 2000 and 3000 model they offer show towing 4-10k lbs...so is this some kinda "light duty" tranny?
also, if I understand right, this would still be an allison, but upgraded?

I'd treat that like a stock transmission personally.
