Looks like the back log is getting better. I ordered my tank the end of last month and contacted S and B today and was told my tank will be shipping next week. Looking forward to getting it installed. Dean
Wouldnt get your hopes up. I've called for the past 2 weeks (1 2) and have been told "should ship next week" each time.
I ordered in June

Fingers crossed. Hoping for the best. D
Fuel tank arrived in all of its diesel-carrying glory.

Checked the list of parts. Found I am missing two pieces. Called the number on the instructions and was able to get to someone quickly. He asked me what I was missing and for a good address to ship to. Should have the parts in the next few days. A little disappointed but they remediated about as easy as anyone could expect. I'm not in a hurry and I know they're dealing with supplier issues like everyone else.
@Dean E you sound like you have a tight timeframe. Make sure to inventory as soon as you receive it. FWIW - I was missing the rollover vent cap (item #15) and one of the two pieces of 5/16" fuel hose (item #16).

Install time. To maintain thread relevancy IF i decide to post a how-to or any comments on that process I will post them somewhere else. I'll update this with a link if so. Otherwise, i'll make sure to come back and provide my thoughts on it, specifically related to its clearance height (granted @BoiseRob pic conveys about as much as one can) and fit.

Thanks for the heads up. I have not heard of a shipping notice yet but I will give them a couple more days before calling again. Dean

Tank was installed last Friday. After transferring some of the fuel in the stock tank, the initial fill up took 58.7 gallons. Had to move the 165gph AirDog II outside the frame rail. Tank hangs down but not as low as a Titan tank. Mechanic said it was an easy 2 hr install including the move of the lift pump.
Sorry for the crappy picture...

Did you use a draw straw for the lift pump?

My mechanic prefers the draw straw because the provided sump location is the tank low point and may allow dirt into the fuel line…
Was just about to post that the sending unit I received has an outlet nipple that is .512" compared to the .499" I mic'd on my stock sending unit. This may not seem like much but its a massive difference. The stock hose does not fit. I tried putting it on. In the process of removing it the metal piece that fastens the stock fuel line... it pulled out and i had to use a screw driver and hammer to get it off the S&B sending unit.
I'm going to contact S&B to see whats up but probably wont push the issue. A 1/2" hose fits just nice and with a band clamp it shouldnt go anywhere despite it being a smooth nipple.

Dirt shouldnt be an issue with a fuel filter (or multiple fuel filters), correct? (no argument you want to avoid cleaning your tank with your fuel filters).
What is your tank utilization with the draw straw? Is it close to the bottom or a few inches off? I might be interested in this route if it doesnt diminish the utilization too much.

For the money spent on this kit everything should fit perfectly. What did you get back from S&B on the 1/2 inch outlet nipple? Do they have an acceptable range of measurement on what this fitting should be? Really don't want to "rig" up something to make this work. Dean

Thanks for the reminder. I just called. He asked if it was for a Dmax when I was mentioning the issue. They said they've had a few reports of this issue
They took my mailing address/email and about 5 min later I received an email with the shipping notice. Iphone says the entire call was 3 minutes (including the short wait for a svc rep). Given the situation, I believe S&B handled this very well. I expect to get the part in 2 days as that's how long it took to get the missing parts last week.

S&B said its a typical 1/2" threaded port where this nipple goes (i didnt look too close so i dont know). To replace just unscrew and put the new one in. Given what i've seen so far I might not use the one they are shipping.

I'm digressing a bit but i'm looking at putting my LP and filtration in front of the tank. Theres enough height/room for at least one filter and my Kennedy (I'm going to try two filters but its going to be extremely tight. I tested a filter head i have with a Cat filter screwed in. I can get the filter tucked in and be above the bottom of the x-member for the t-bars with about 1-2" of clearance up top. If I go this route I might just install a 1/2" barb fitting and run the hose directly over the tank to the front to my Filter/LP setup.

S&B Tank (10-1006) and B&W turnover

Not sure if its specific to my truck or if this is the case with others but when I test fit my tank (installed the tank with rear strap and front bar only) I found that the tank makes contact with the big U bolt that goes around my frame to hold the brackets for my B&W turnover ball.
Its not a large point of contact but I'm a bit concerned that when filled with fuel they may be additional expansion where this contact point grows to touch more of that bolt.

Thoughts?

Here's pics showing the contact. My bed is removed thus allowing for the top-side angle.

Yeah, I emailed their customer service and basically got the same info. I will definitely measure mine along with an inventory check of everything in the kit before I start anything. They stated that they could send me another fitting or I could try to sand it down a bit to fit. I'm certainly not going to sand it down. If needed I will have them send another fitting if mine is too big. Thanks, Dean

My turn over ball bracketry is all welded into place. I doubt I will have any clearance issues but I will post pics if I do. Dean

I guess it does bring up a question. Who has installed this tank with a retractable goose neck ball mounted under the bed? Has anyone else seen installation issues because of a 5th wheel or gooseneck installation with the S&B tank? Dean

When the replacement fitting arrived did you happen to measure it? My tank just arrived and my fitting measures out at .506. Just curious how that measures up to what you got. They are shipping me another as I type this out but if the replacment one you have is the same I can push forward and start the tank replacement. Thanks, Dean

Glad you got your tank quick!

They shipped USPS not Fedex. Wont get it until this weekend.
Mine mic'd at .512 so yours is halfway. If you can remove that large line from the hard line you could test fit it (you've probably already kicked this idea around).

I'll post up the fitting size when i get it.

They are overnighting mine since I told them I was installing it this weekend before getting ready for my trip to CO. They stated no issues at all with the fittings they ship out separate from the tank kit. Dean
