Shopping for shocks and find many websites not updated to show 2021 model.

Is the OEM shock the same on 2019 and 2021 trucks?

Thanks in advance!

I believe there was a suspension redesign with the new chassis design so i wouldnt trust the 2019 setup - although the shocks could very well be the same. Does the site list anything for the 2020 instead of the 2021? I would trust that more than the 2019

Thanks, unfortunately I’m finding that they list thru 2019 on the Rancho site. Looking at the 9000 XL Adjustable.

So far my bed mat was listed as “will not fit” and it did. Same with my exhaust outlet.

Next step is to compare the years on a different brand that lists 2021 and see if the part #s vary.

the are different, but essentially the same.

supposedly there was a change and the new trucks have LESS travel than the '19 down. Having said that, the shocks on my truck truck are "spec'd" for the '19. I wanted them because of my level height and the increased travel. I have had them on the truck for 5000 miles and they are fine, work just the same as the shocks spec'd for the '20 I took off before these.
both of those shocks are Cognito spec'd Fox 2.0s

I checked part numbers for Bilstein 2019 and 2021 Sierra HD models and they have the same part number.

If the travel is shorter on the 2021 that’s fine, just don’t want it to be longer.

Ordered the Rancho 9000 as I like the adjustable option. OEM Ranchos are not good for towing which I do 90% of the time. The trailer is only 4,000 ish lbs but bounces waaaaay too much when towing.

Hope to install them in the next week or so.

I bought the 2019 part # for my 2021 and they bolted on perfectly. Just finished a 2,500 mile trip and they worked well……much better than OEM.

Adjustability is a great feature. Hard setting when towing, soft for around town.

Good to know for everyone!

What were your preferred adjustments? Are you able to adjust dampen and rebound or is it just one setting?

There are 9 settings…..detent isn’t the best on the knob so I just tested full soft ( full counter clockwise) , middle and full hard ( full clockwise).

For daily driving, long road trips ( empty, not towing) I like full soft. Even on soft the rear axle bounce on take off on rough pavement was improved. Tires stayed planted.

Tested full hard on long trip, liked it, firm, well planted but still prefer soft for comfort. You may like it different.

Haven’t tested much towing as I just installed them last week. Did pull a 4,000 trailer with just the rears installed. On soft setting made a noticeable difference in the fore/aft bounce these HD trucks tend to have.

Will be pulling a travel trailer a 7,000-8,000lbs, in the next couple months. Probably start on full hard and see how it feels.

I like adjustability. Being a former car and motorcycle racer, I value adjustability. Makes an impact on ride and handling. Conditions change so settings should as well.
