I've been wanting to start a thread where members can come to one place and ask if adding an Exterior mod would look good or go well with their truck.

If your like me you have bought stuff that you thought would go good only to find it looks out off place and now you have wasted the money.

I bought some white framed rigid lights that I thought would look good on the front of my white truck, after I installed it didn't look right and most agreed.

So using my example, post pics of parts that your thinking about adding and what truck you have and we'll try to say yes or no to help out.

I have a few that I want to ask about so to only have one thread for everyone lets try this out.

Here is the white led's vs the Black that I switched to, to me and most it looks better.

If I would have asked before I might have just bought the black to begin with.

So to start off , before I cut holes in my rear bumper , does anyone think the white would look good in my rear bumper.

Like this black truck has done to his.

I'll tap into the trailer plug reverse lights so they only come on in reverse.

Yes or no?

Next I have been hating how behind my front wheels look, the factory spacer on my dually is covered with rust. I plan to pull it and either get them powder coated black or just rattle can them black.

While I'm doing that I've been throwing around the idea of adding brake caliper covers, I've been thinking blue with silver writing.

Would the blue look good behind the wheel?

Yes or no?

Next, the front wheel well looks bare without mud flaps to me. Just seems like something is missing not that I have the mp steps on.

Debating on adding plain black mud flaps that will go with the plain black in the rear, or getting the Gatorback Chevy flaps.

Here is a pick of my truck now with nothing, and a pick of a truck with the gatorbacks that I like. I would get the matching front and rears.

Plain black or chevy bowtie?

Last question of the day.

Rear wheel well, I'm thinking of getting rino lined. It's plain white now.

Here is a pic I found of a lined dually, I think it looks better and add protection, I plan to do this anyways but asking in case there might be a reason not to do this.

Line rear wheel well, yes or no?

No on the blue. Do they make the covers in black with silver writing? I think that would look better.

Black mud flaps with white bow tie yes

Rhino line the rear wheel wells for sure. I like mine that way

No, nope, no way on the blue caliper covers, plain silver caliper looks good to me, I painted all 4 of mine silver

Lights - Yes
Caliper Covers - No, not blue not at all, they look cheap. If you need to do something, go ahead and paint them, silver or black would look best, but if you want the accent you could go with blue.
Flaps - None looks best, but if you want them for protection I would go with plain.
Rhino Liner - Yes

Good input guys, the only reason I was thinking blue covers was I was going to do blue under the hood.

Here are the parts I would replace (just in blue instead of the red) and this is the blue I would use.

They come in any color, just not sure the black would "pop" like the blue?

I'm not wanting to paint my caliper because it would be harder to remove if I grew old with the look, with the covers I could just remove them and get them power coated another color if I wanted.

These covers cover the entire brake

Any of these look better?

White lights on the rear....It appears to be a different white than the bumper.

Like dressing in black clothes, two different whites don't blend, IMO.

I think the Orange jumps out. Red....so, yesterday.

I like the blue under the hood. But since your paint scheme is black and white I'd suggest white plumbing. And for the brake caliper covers, black with Silverado in white might be sharp

I have a pet peeve where colors are "close". Personal opinion, be conservative with adornments and make sure it looks like it would if the factory did it and it will look function and good.

I had already bought these in white, plan is to see how I like them and if the mis matched color bother me too much I'll just remove them and paint the frame color matched.

I've been debating pulling my tailgate handle off and color matching that as well so I might do them both at the same time.

I would.
I see the light's white turning more yellow (than it is now) with time.

But, I already pointed that out.
Good level/symmetric mounting.
It could very well go unnoticed as an add on....until they light up.
