Well I think all parts are orderd or will be here in a few days. Rear Hub centric wheel spacers came in yesturday. I sent all my hardware out to the local plater and having it all Yellow zink'd. Spent the afternoon in the Sand blaster finishing stuff I didnt want to acid bath. Oh and finaly fixed my heat in the garage so I will be able to paint, so the first E coat will be going on the axle tomorrow. Also All these idiots selling stock classic steel wheels off dualys for Gold can go get BENT. I found I can order brand new for $73.00 So I was able to replace the one wheel that the guy gave me that was not GM wheel but was dodge 16x6.

Thank you I was taught to do it right or dont do it. And it seems to have turned into pandoras box LOL I found out last night when assembling that the plating process removed material from the splines on the the Brake anchor bolts and they just fall into the holes they were once pressed into. So I used the old trick of putting a ball in the hole and rolling the material in so they would catch. I called GM and they do not offer the 4 splined bolts by themselves you have to order the complete bracket with backing plate and studs. $174.00 pc. Thats not happening, If I cant get them to torque to spec I have a few other tricks to get them to seat. Either Red Lock tite will be used!

So the thought just hit me, a stock dually has a 245x75x16 I do believe. So if I run this through the calculator adn I put that tire vs the 285x75x16 with a 3:73 gear effective gear ratio falls to a 3:46 and if I want to regear to get back to stock with 285 I need a 4.02. SOOOO if I put a 4:11 in it should make a huge difference trying to pull 17,000 toy hauler. Decisions Decisions Oh and more money into Pandoras box

Thanks you are right, I just checked the tag I swiped form a door and its 215/85/16 even then it only changes te calculator by .01. So is still need to swap to the 4:11 to achieve an evective gear ration of the original 3;73

We had snow yesturday and I ran out of time. But was able to ge the rear spindle nut torqued to 54 ft lbs then realised it was suppose to be 52. Also found the new square lock key wont go in far enough for the retianing spring to fit flush. So I will have to investigate that today.

Got home late and worked on cleaning a caliper up to spray. I also finished the Front wheel spacers cleaned and painted. I also machined up some SS spacers to take up some space because my new U bolts are too long, and I didnt want to run out of thread. The spacers will also serve as a nice place for my plates to set for the custom track bars I am building

Through the HUNT for part and ID 's I came across this information. Also I noted the Housing master numbers to ease in R/P setup this took quite a few phone calls.

Spent the day agrivating my Arthritis, and now finding it hard to move. Spring wrestling sucks. OUT with the 2500 and in with the 3500. Actauly rides better, because the Air bag doesnt bottom out. Also I Have been spraying the bolts down for about a month so everything came apart except the pass front eye bolt was seized in the bushing. And of course whoom ever engineered that thing, putting a bolt through a hole blind with the fuel tank in the way needs his head split open. I creativley loosened the straps flexed the tank with a long pry bar and tilted the spring sideways to get it out at an angle. Needless to say the bolt went back in from the other direction.
