No I bought from a dealer and they won't help.

 

Do you have steps that auto-retract? Sometimes, they are powered from the odb port.

 

I do. But I was scared to disconnect it in case it was something else like the delete. I don't want to chance it going into limp mode or something.

 

I have Ampsteps on my truck and nothing goes in the diagnostic port. Call Ampsteps and see what they tell you.

 

Probably if they are factory installed.
Maybe mine was not factory installed I'm not sure.

There is a tie into wiring for the BCM, but nothing to the OBD port. I do have the electrical device as in the picture post #6 in the engine compartment but mine mounts on the passenger side near the battery Maybe because of my truck being older - 2008 or a Crew Cab?

 

Yeah, the newer vehicles/AMP power steps are different. They just plug into the OBD port and there is zero wire splicing now into the factory wire harness
