my spare tire lock mech was seized. i tried the user manual instructions without success and then unscrewed the 15mm bolt to let the mechanism of the truck. long story short, after a hospital visit for a crushed hand the tire and mechanism is off the truck.
the mechnaism is ok, but how do you lube it so it works, and how do you test it before reinstalling it? id rather not defeat the safety mechanism(but will if necessary) as i lost my spare of my f250 2 yrs ago becasue the wire rope rotted out....
