Have you checked the ac compresser pulley yet? Could need and ac compresser pulley. my truck did this when the ac compresser was running and when i was bulding up rpm but sopped when the engine warmed up n i replaced the belt and it fixed it..

How's the steering/brakes?

Pry the P/S pump pulley toward the front of the truck and see if you've a broken pump shaft.

Just a thought...
it will do it when the ac is on or off and it sounds good
every thing is working good and i have tryed that. thanks
Maybe EGR leak? Is it a really high pitch?

Did you ever locate what was causing the whine in your truck? I've been searching for a similar noise and I'm having a devil of a time trying to locate it.
I had squeeling only when cold since the truck was new, once it warmed up it was barely noticeable. Had it to the dealer 3 times over 3 months time. 1st time replaced belt 2nd time adjusted pulleys, 3rd time left truck with dealer overnite so they could get it cold, replaced idler pulley. Its been a week and all ok. Doesnt seem like the same truck.
