Steering Upgrade?

Ready to order up a set of Rare Parts tie rods. Started looking into getting the SuperSteer Xtreme Idler Pivot Assembly as well as Moog Idler and Pitman arms. Figured I'd do it all together instead of going back and doing when I lift my truck. Just wondering if anyone has used these parts or any good info. Truck has less than 30,xxx on it, would I be wasting money getting the idler and pitman arms?

Moog makes great products! But I never heard of the rare parts place or super steer. Do you have a link to them? Price?

They sell all of it on DMAXstore.com and of course its all under steering.

Anyone else have any info????
Is your truck lifted? if it is they may be already going bad, but dont know. I know Dmaxstore has the idler/pitman combo as I just picked one up too. I would check to see if they are showing any play, and if so swap them out. If not, its up to you. At least the Moogs have a lifetime warranty so if they go bad again, you can always get them replaced. JMO
Yeah, I think I'm going to go ahead and replace them...90 bucks a pop isn't bad enough to break the bank :)
Trucks not lifted sorry, I think the Tbars are cranked up though. I bought it used and it has 285's on it. Can you clear em with out crankin the Tbars?
The 285's will take a quick toll on your Idler/Pitman arms.
By adding the Cognito supports to the new arms you will be good for a long time.
yeah i got the moog stuff from dmax store...great guys to deal with and superfast shipping and they keep you informed...

No issues ever and they even sent me a sticker to put on the back window....one of these days I will have time to put it on.
I thought about getting the cognito braces but I just can't see paying $200 for 2 little pieces of metal
get the braces! that make a huge difference its not even worth getting new arms without them.

also my buddy just got the supersteer and LOVES IT...it helped his launching out bigtime and he said it steers better and everything

if you want PM him his name is wally (N2BRK)
I purchased the Moog Idler & Pitman Arms, Cognito braces and the Fabtech HD Tie rods from Mike at DMAXSTORE.com and absolutely love them. Big difference steering is tighter. Quality parts and great service.
Good to hear Wolf, thank you for the mention.
Dmaxstore, Recently bought a used 2007.5 GMC CCSB Duramax with nice wheels and 285 tires. The torsions have been turned just a bit to lift for the tire clearance. I had the tires balanced to stop what I thought was a slight tire out of balance. The shake varies between 30-50mph. It has 50k miles now. Do you think the pitman arms and braces are the fix? The american tire wanted to sell me new rubber, claiming cupping. I had much worse cupping on my Ford and it drove like a dream. Any suggestions? Thanks

It is unlikely that Idler/Pitman arms are the cause of your vibration. However the more worn the arms are the faster your tires will wear or cup. Speed specific vibrations will typicaly be caused by tires or drive lines.
Americas tire might be right in your situation. Do you have some stock wheels and tires available to try? Does your truck have a one piece or 2 piece drive line?
