First off, sorry for your loss, hopefully insurance gets you towards whole in the end. I'm wondering how it is so easy to steal these things and how they so quickly and easily can disable an integrated system like this, it would seem some sophistication on this heist, or is it simply luck that keeps our vehicles in the driveway overnight each night? I know they found some hacks for the onstar to open the door and remote start, but they said they were unable to activate the car and drive it. Did they pull it onto a flatbed or break in and drive it?

Now I'm looking at air tags to drop one inside the truck or bed somewhere, 30 couple bucks seems like cheap insurance.

Article from February 2020 and the last thing in the article states...

In a statement, OnStar responded to the rash of Chevrolet Silverado thefts by saying it was working “closely with law enforcement in Texas to understand the details of theft methods being used.”

I call BS, Onstar and GM don't care, they know insurance will pay and the owner may end up buying a new GM truck, so just one more sale for them! I have started taking the fuel pump relay out of the truck at night hoping that causes them enough issues, if they do try to get mine, that they bail on the theft. I think I will take a look at all the fuses and relays to see how many I can remove to disable it, I doubt they'll have a pocket full of the right things to repopulate and drive it away
