Do you have to stop at weigh stations? I'm trying to figure out if I need to or not with my personal hauler... its GV is about 19k... Kicker is I have a class A cdl, but noone else in my family does, dealer said it wasn't neccessary, but I'm not so sure, and it's never easy getting a straight answer from the DOT

Hauling campers for work, yes I have to stop at scales and keep a log book.

Hauling my own camper, no.

I see, is the Airstream the camper you're refering to? I have 2 other smaller campers, but they're nowhere near the 16k mark, so that's why I'm wondering about this one

Thanks!

If I were moving my airstream commercially, i'd have to stop at scales.

Without turning this thread of awesome into a dot debate, the basics are:
Over 10,000 gvwr/combined gvwr and for work/commercial purposes you're pulling into the scales.

For personal use I could take my 9900 gvwr truck, hook onto the absolute biggest trailer my truck is rated for and say :neener to the scales.

Your own state and local laws may differ.

Some nice campers that you have delivered.
How much of a difference do you think having a 2wd vs a 4wd makes in what you get for mileage?
(With the price of fuel I'm sure any difference has an effect on the paycheck.)

It's got to help a little, but Idk exacts. Another reason for me was life of the front end. What's the most miles on a stock 4wd front end? Besides shocks and brakes, I'm all original equipment.

Debating making this my last trip. May not be an 'in the future'

Over to 75 and north. I cut east at Corbin and took 25 on the way down.

I wouldn't try pulling our camper or much of anything with this van. Once I get a newer van I might sell it. Idk.

Hey Julian, help my old man memory here....

You brought those pyos to me in your jetta right? 4 wheels and tires, 265s.

I picking up a set of wheels/tires for the van tomorrow. 245s. They should fit in the xB if you got the 265s in the jetta.
