I just got my 2011 3500 chevy d/a. I am looking to soften the ride. My tires are michelin LTX AT LT 265 70 R 18. The max pressure is 80 pounds. When I run empty my front axle weight is 4500 and my rear axle weight is 3000. I was wondering what air pressure is the minimum that can be run front and rear safely when empty without causing any bad wear on the tires. I looked on the web for a inflation chart for Michelin tires and I could not find one.

Also I have heard that adding air bags and keeping some pressure in them would also help, is that true?

Thanks for any advise on these subjects!

Dave

I lowered the pressure to 55-60ish on my LML, it made a big difference with the michelin's even with my trailer the side walls looked ok. I might try running them at 50 when empty.
