I recently checked out the Co-op's new touchless car wash and wow! I have never heard water his the vehicle with such anger and hate! I thought my mirrors were going to tear off, if there was a off button I would of hit it, lol. Then came the huricane force winds to dry it off and then i seen a shovel I had in the box dancing in the air about 3 feet above the bed. Just when I thought the worst was over I saw my bug deflector snap in two and blow right off my truck! When the beating was finally over I got out to look at my truck and it sure was clean but at what cost, lol. So I showed the kid working there cuz the manager was gone and hopefully the manager will fork over for another bug deflector.

The one's I have be to had warnings about deflectors, it said not to use the wash. If no sign then they should buy you a new one.

I usually stay far away from the new touchless washes at COOP. The bays at the Shawnessy Calgary location are both shit - like water laser beams on your paint. I grip my wheel with sweaty palms the whole way through, in anticipation of shredded paint and missing flares :rof. So far I've been very lucky.

Last weekend I needed a wash bad, so I took a chance on the Deer Valley location. What a difference! The jets were all fanned in a smooth pattern, with none of that laser beam screaming across my paint! I've come to wonder if the other locations have bad water jets that need changing??

I think its funny when you see people jump out and run to collect scattered stuff that come out haha
Its funny that you say that. I was one of those people :rof Less than a week after I got the DMAX :idkidk I forgot I had food in the bed of my truck from work and did just what you said as it was running jumped out to throw it in the back seat well forgot the machine had to come back forward to wash the front of the truck and when it did it caught the rear door. I had to pull out of the was and then the door wouldn't shut  Long story short had to call a buddy to ride home holding it so I could fix the catch latch. Thank God that was all it was

On feb 15th, I went through a carwash that had brushes. As it was washing the arm the brush is attached to broke and came slamming into my truck. Scratched and dented the driver side. Called the owner, had me go get an estimate, cut me a check for 2k:eek::eek:

Im not sure what brand it was but it wasnt the super tiny ones that hug the hood. Its a fairly good size one but the car wash was just a little too much for it.

If inside of truck is dirty open windows during drying, WARNING gail force winds use eye protection!!!!! Works good for getting dust out. Ever use one of them tornado hand dryers get some funny looks when coming out of bathroom, sounds like a damn jet taking off. Recomend earplugs!!!

Auto washes are junk! They use very powerful soaps in order to cut the grime and it strips all your wax that you had on. Touchless maybe but its still gonna blow all of your paints protection away!
