I traded my Cummins in today for a loaded 04 Chevy Duramax with 64k on it also saved a nice chunk of change from my former payment. I had a 5" TBE with no emission garbage in it, S&B intake and a Smarty programmer, it made 434hp, didn't get a solid tq reading but there was a blip that showed 874tq. It ran great but I wanted more luxuries and to save some money on payment as I have a little one on the way. I did feel like a murderer last night when I put that terrible stock exhaust with the evil DPF back on, man does that choke the poor motors. :kick

I'm wondering what are the "necissities" for the LLY Duramax? It has an AFE intake and 4" exhaust with Edge already, but something has to be done about that little EGR problem. ;) What's the best way to delete/block it, as in is there a kit or just an easy block method everyone uses? I also have seen a lot of talk about the LLY turbo mouthpiece, what did they do that screwed it up so bad and what's the best fix, a whole new piece or a ported one or...? Sorry for all the newb questions and thanks for the help. :)

looks like you will have a happier life with the power of the dmx! aand the mp is a must for our llys man that is like the dpf for our trucks not really but it resticts so much air. it will also help with the over heating problems. hope this helps.......i know it came with the truck but get rid of the edge and go EFI live that is the chit man!

Thanks guys! I plan to get EFI live but it'll be a little bit, at least till the little one is born. I'll look into that mp and hopefully pick one up soon, is there any specific brand that stands out? :)

im new to im only 17 and had my tuck for a yr and 7 months and learn something new everyday on these fourms its a greaat place to search for things that are related to the things you like..as for the mp AFE makes a whole new mp for our lillys...but i just bought a lmm mp and cut the intake tube and get a rubber coupling with two hosw clamps and it woks better and $150 cheaper.
You can use the lbz mp to but lmm is bigger i beleive and if you dont want to cut anything you can order a kodiak mp from gm parts and it fit perfect in place and also deletes the resonator port altogether. two birds one stone :)

husker diesel or alligator performance has the egr blocker plates takes about 10 mins to install and its 15 bucks shipped

i will say this to clear up the mp dispute! if you hold the lilly mp next to the lmm mp...the lmm is almost 3 times bigger! it made my truck spool a whole lot faster and cooler temps i've seen running over a period time.

efi live, tranny and your good for 550 with stock inj and turbo with the right tune and small mods....... I came over from a cummins, 03 quad cab and love the interior and all the features,,,,,,, great trucks

oh okay so there is a diff in lbz and lmm the lmm has the same size inlet and oulet holes of courss but the curves are diff and th body is bigger it looks like.

Just get the kodiak mouth piece. It is a direct fit and eliminates the resinator. Step two is to throw that edge out the door. Get PPE, Stealth 2, or EFI live. Nothing else is really needed!

Wow thanks for all the replies, VERY helpful! I'll have to take a peek at the mp and see if it's been replaced since there's already an intake on. Is there anything I can look for that would stand out to tell if it's been replaced? I'm still a newb forgive me. Lol
