i was talking to the local shop in my town and i mentioned my tranny upgrade and he told me all i need is a torque converter because the torque converter would go bad before anything else would and hes been messing with stuff like this since 1964 and im not saying hes right or wrong but does anyone have any input on this

the clutches in the trans slip aswell, if your gonna do mods for more horsepower, you just aswell do a trans build a converter all at the sametime, that way you know everything is good from the converter back

mabe he knws what hes talking about but i didnt mention to him that i was gunna throw more hp at it i just thought of it hmm ok i just wanted to ask but forgot about this part alright thanx guys

Your Edge only reads converter clutch slip and nothing else. Converter clutch must be applied when reading numbers. If the clutch is not applied the numbers mean nothing.
New to the forum so not sure what you mean, I know the converter suppose to slip to make the truck move but it seems very excessive under 1/2 to 3/4 throttle RPMs never drop after shift . If I mash the tow haul & floor it, it still slips 1/2 way through 2nd gear the locks up through 3rd, 4rth & 5th.

tranny upgrades

I just purchased a transgo jr for my 08lmm, I have a banks 6 gun, and I'm using the quadzilla chip I have for a dpf delete. I was wondering if the trans go jr and maybe a 5 star ats torque converter would handle full power of my banks to where it doesn't hurt my tranny, any suggestions for upgrades would b greatly appreciated, thanks.
