My buddy has a 2003 dura/ally with 65000 miles and it is completly stock he was driveing down the road and something poped then the trans started to make a scrapeing noise in 1,2,3,5 gears with the tq converter locked and unlocked the trans still shifts fine and has no other issues It shifts like it is in tow haul mode all the time this is a wierd case and we are stumped. Please any body have any ideas

Well no codes it was at the allison dealership today the tech guy thinks it is a t-5 bushing?? Well I guess its all good beside the 96.00 dollars labor rate!!!!!!!! My friends going to walk funny after that!!!!

Hey i am servicing my trans this weekend, can someone tell me how many quarts i will have to replace once i drain it out. 04 lb7 w/ Allison 1000. I am wanting to buy fluid and not sure how much i will need.

7.4 quarts if just draining and not pulling the pan/internal filter. Don't forget to change that red spin-on filter :wink2:

Thanks DMAX, got it. I bought the service pack from DMAX Store. I want to start using Schaffer fluids and oil. If you know nothing about it, never heard of it. Check it out. They started using this oil in a Cummins and went I think like 500K pulled it a part checked all the tolerances and they were still at factory specs. The story is great. Im not gullible by any stretch. But check it out. Anyhow thanks for your in put. I appreciate it.
