I have a 2004 (LB7) D/A 2500 GMC Crew, It has 80K on it, and I put the EDGE/Juice/Attitude on it about 5-6 months ago. Since then, on 4 seperate occasions, when letting off the throttle, the engine died. The first indication that anything is wrong, is the battery 'idiot' light on the upper right of the dash, then the digital message center says the battery is low, and the engine dies. This all happens quickly, and as soon as I cycle the key off and re-start, it fires right up like nothing was wrong. - I can do it rolling down the road. 3 of the times I was in 'mileage' mode, and one time I was in 'tow' setting.

It happend 2 times this week, and two other times in the past 6 months I've had the truck since putting on the EDGE/Attitude/Juice module. I have heard that Edge is really good about standing behind their product, but that they have had some trouble with QC. Has anyone else had this problem, or have any ideas ???? I bought the truck used, and I have no way to know if the previous owner had this problem. I had the truck for 1-2 months before adding the module. When I checked the service history for this truck, there is no mention of this problem in the Dealer database for my VIN. It also doesnt seem to be throwing any codes, but I havent been able to check it after this past week yet.

the fuel filter and whole fuel system was given the good ol' GMC dealership Douche about 7K ago. new filter as well. the dealership enjoys a good reputation for duramax maint. in the area.

I plan to contact Edge tomorrow and see what they say, and depending on their answer, pull the edge out and see.

I'll check the alternator, but the frequency doesnt seem to me to point to a charging problem.

I kinda wish I could make it do it more often, and try some differnt things to narrow down the source. 4 times in 6 months isnt exactly frequent, but 2 times in the past week is.... so I might be able to find a pattern.... I hope....

7k is enough miles I would change the fuel filter as preventive maint. as it only takes one bad load of fuel to clog it up. Your alternator could be weak, and not making enough volts to keep the system running at idle is my thinking.....

yeah im gonna check the alternator, and see what kind of power it's pushing. with regards to the fuel filter, IF its clogged with crud, wouldnt it make sense that under heavy loads, the engine would loose power? (it doesnt)

I suspect it's related with the data going through the edge, but I dont want to just go at it hap-hazzardly changing parts.

it's the edge unit for sure. I'm on my 3rd unit (soon 4th) now and they are using me as a test. It will just shut down. They say it's because of the weak crank signal that the Duramax's have. They are trying to correct it, but better do something soon, tiered of taking it off and on.
