I'm buying a new 2019 2500 Duramax later this month. I want to get some Winter rims for it - I like to run plain/cheap rims in Winter.

I read through some threads here and reminded myself: Ford and Ram (Dodge) 8-bolts will fit GM but GM won't fit Ford/Ram because the GM center hole is smaller.

Is that still generally correct?

I will measure the center hole once I get the truck and double check before I buy anything of course.

The bolt pattern on GM sense 2011 is 8 on 180, Ford bolt pattern is 8 on 170, so no matter what size the hole is , GM wheels won't work on Ford, or vice versa. I don't know what the Dodge bolt pattern is. Who cares about Dodge anyway?

Thanks for the reply 1skydog.

We moved rims from Ford to Chevy on our farm trucks but that was 1980s-90s. I think I had Ford rims on my 1996 Chevy 2500 but I might be misremembering.

As it happens I saw a set of new take-off Ram rims this AM.

Yeah back in the day all were 8x6.5. Now ford and GM are the metric sizes above.

And Ram is 8x6.5
I have a set of 17" 8x180 with center caps and TPMS $500.
i ran them one winter on my '18, they won't fit my 2020 3500 as the rear brakes require 18" wheel.

i know the dodge ram is 8x6.5 up to 2017 and nissan is too for the titan xd, so they will fit any gm 8 lug under 2012, newer gm use 8x170 and ford uses a metic number too.
