I used to have this issue when hauling heavy where I would be driving down the road and the rpms start to studder and then I would not be able to accelerate. Well I started having this issue again. I start off and the truck pulls great all the way to 70 and after a few the pedal becomes unresponsive and I can no longer sustain 70 and it slows to 65. I can stay at 65 but if I try and floor it the trans will downshift but the truck will not accelerate. I got low rail pressure a few months ago but I don't have access to a scanner right now. Am I having a fueling issue? It feels that way.

Could you list all the mods on truck so we can try and help find the problem

Check your actual vs demand fuel rail pressure and see if they match well, if not then you have a fuel supply issue.

Edge Insight CS or CTS, Snap-on Modis, Tech 2 or similar scanner.......read through OBD port.

Well I don't have that yet but I'm working on it. I did however find a temp fix to the problem. When it occurs, stop turn off the truck pump the manual pump until it gets hard to pump then you are good to go for a bit more.

That tells me you have a fuel supply problem for sure......fix that and you should be good to go (may be filter head or lines).

Would still be smart to check your rail pressure too though.

When I get a chance I'll trace the lines and see if there is any issues and then I'll work on getting a cts and probably a lift pump. I plan on running an economy tune for my day to day and then when I get back to NC I'll be towing heavy again.

Are you sure it's not in limp mode? My 04.5 went into limp because of .. well I still have not figured out what caused the one time fault. But point is I was towing a 9000# trailer and no matter where I put the throttle pedal,, 67MPH (its 1600RPM I believe) is MAX it will do in limp.

FIRST read the codes and see what is stored, then clear the codes (which will clear limp) and see if it comes back.
