I have a TST on my truck, but I don't have a manual....I have the allison. It doesn't seem that many people run this box because I have done some checking on other forums, but only a couple of people are using them. I have not had any issues with mine. The TST was already installed on my truck when I bought it, so I haven't bothered with any other harness boxes.
I have not seen anyone ever run a tst box, but my personal experience with a stick truck is that everything seems to work well on them i have tried many different boxes and programers on my truck, none of which i would say didnt work or had any ill effects, but stacking a couple will give some driveability issues.
Also adding power to a ZF/Dmax will cause a veryshort life of the dual mass flywheel, they dont hold up very well stock let alone with added power. i only got 10,000 miles out of mine wiht an edge box on it !
I have the dual disk ceramic Single Mass Flywheel, the kit you mention i beleive uses the stock fly wheel? The stock clutch will hold 400+ hp right up untill the flywheel fails! South bend makes a great single disk SMF that is avaliable in three different materials, Organic, Ceramic, And Feramic. The ceramic and organic disk kits have some mino driveabilty issues but if you want to do any more than drive normal and tow with your truck they are a must. THe organic is fine for normal driving and towing but if you plan on hot rodding or anytype of foolin around i would avoid it!!!
My TST box has 9 hp and 9 torque settings that you can change independent of each other. I believe the box is rated at 140 hp and 360 ft/lbs of torque over stock. As of the last time I checked though, they only make a box for the LB7 engine, but they are working on the LLY box.
