ive had bad...baddddddddddd..memories with electricty i dont like to touch it..thats why i dont like unhooking my batteriesbeing safe cant hurt
so nothing will happen to the ECM?You dont have to.
lol well i know its not powered but i didnt know if like unplugging all the things to the ecm would ruin itNope. I was pissed I unhooked mine. It reset my hour meter.
The switch is not powered. It only changes voltage resistance. It doesnt matter which wire goes in what hole either.
i didnt get instrructiosn the only instructions are on the efi live forum and they dont say disconnectjust follow the instructions.. they are there for a reason unless the guys that tell you you dont have too will fix your truck if something goes wrong
lol ya ive zapped myself alotyea i always just unhook the ground when im doing electrical work. ive zapped myself and blown enough fuses to know better now lol
thanks jesse ive looked at that one but since they show blue connector it confuses me..i found one that Nick at duramaxtuner did that i used!Kyle, in the help menu once you open up EFI there is a tutorial. It does a pretty good job of explaining how to wire the switch in.
I'd unhook the batteries just as a precaution, it's only your engine's computer, and only a few hundred to replace right??? No big deal to fry itNot like it's that hard to unhook em anyway. And we've never had a trucks hourmeter reset, or anything reset for that matter

i think the only way you can do is by unbolting the ecm... which isnt a very big deal...well i got it on..took a lot longer than expected...the plugs would not unhook from ECM so i unbolted it so i had better angle at it!
and before i put everything back together i put batteries in and tested to make sure it worked! thank god for the scan tool! only bad thing is one of the pins broke off..but that is being used for the ground somewhere in the truck now
