get used to it, all duramax's do it. the lmm's do it worse after a dpf delete. i ntice mine is worse after a oil change.
NORMAL,there is a official TSB from GM regarding this...Do not try adjusting the valves,in fact do nothing!Pilot injection is sort of noisy and cause the Duramax is rather quiet it is just more noticable.[that is what the TSB says in a nutshell]..I have an 07 lmm. When I start the truck and it's at idle I can here a tap tap tap noise coming from the engine. It's very noticable when the motor is cold and pretty much goes away after the engine runs awhile. The tap noise is not a constant tap, it might tap 2 or 3 times then stop for a couple seconds and then tap 1, 2, or 3 times. I can,t hear it from the top of the motor, really just from the drivers side front fender well. Any ideas what this could be? Valves?
Wow, I didn't know this. It does do it alot worse since the DPF Delete. Makes me feel better to know that nothing's wrong. Thanks.get used to it, all duramax's do it. the lmm's do it worse after a dpf delete. i ntice mine is worse after a oil change.
