What part of the vin number will tell me what gear ratio is in a truck I am looking at? Its a 2011 Sierra I was told it had 3.08 in it. Just want to make sure whats in it. Thanks

No part of the VIN will determine that. You would get this information from the RPO tag.

If it is a Duramax, it has a 3.73 gear ratio.

Look in the glove box for the option codes. I think they are a three digit code if I remember correctly. Find all of them and look them up
