Took my truck in to Preston Hood about a month ago because I was getting a exhaust smell in the cab during regeneration. Two days later I get a call saying that they are unable to diagnose the problem becuase of a aftermarket exhaust. When I asked the "Diesel Tech" about the Service Bulliten (PIP4360) that address's this issue, he had no knowledge of it.
The truck has a Banks DPF back exhaust that has been installed for about two years.
I contacted GM to ask what is going on and got the standard Chevrolet does not recommend modifying thier cars or trucks.
I contacted Banks customer service about two weeks ago and have not heard back from them yet.
I know I will never take a vehicle back to Preston Hood Chevy in Fort Walton Beach, FL.
