are there any secerts to line the gears up when reinstalling the pump, I can get it where it fells like it lines up but the pump wont go all the way in

You shouldnt have any gears to line up at all. Just the fins for the pump itself go into the block to pump the coolant?

Just did mine and also wonder that to. The gears wear angle cut IIRC so, if it bolted up they should mesh.

No real trick; gears are not timed... just bolt the pump into housing... set into gear case.
Be real careful with the flimsy seals on the bypass tubes...maybe put some silicone on them and guide it into the t-stat housing very carefully.
