If its Robs tunning prob not. He makes some good clean tunes. Haven't you seen the race truck with his biggest tune run down the track? No smoke at all.

Yea the 150 tune was on the stock trans. It held up ok but would slip sometimes. Im about to drop the truck off today at Performance Innovations in Wilmington NC. Im getting their Tranny kit done because of the 3 year 100k warranty and Its alot cheaper than sun coast. Hopefully ill have good luck with it.

Just to make one thing clear, black smoke is unburned fuel. So more fuel+same boost=smoke+ little more hp, more fuel+more air(boost)=more power+no smoke. A really good tuner increases engine efficiency which is same fuel = more hp (which = better mileage), does make it a bit more difficult to do, but can be done since these engines had no mileage requirements and only emission requirements.

As far as diesels go anyone can increase fuel to get more power, if you increase it a lot you may have to change the turbo to keep up, the VGT turbo in yours is really nice in acting like a multi-size turbo. If you get someone who knows how to tune really well you can get more power without the smoke.

lift pump, tranny, ported fuel fitting,if your gona launch in 4wd sleeves and braces.intake also wouldnt hurt.
You do not need this.. You will need a Race valve or to shim your existing FPRV

Everything else is something I would be the best option. You can get away with just sleeves depending on tires and wheels

Depends on how they build the tunes.

the race valve is something PPE makes. Its a solid bolt that goes inplace of the fuel pressure relief valve. Keeps you from blowing your FPRV open under high rail pressure and loosing power..... The Shim Kit does the same thing. I used 3 but most us 2 washers. They are 4mm flat washers IIRC that go behind the spring in the relief valve (shimming) it and making it harder for it to open up.

Go to ppepower.com to look at the directions
